Martin Currie hires distribution heads in Europe and Americas
February 7, 2019

Martin Currie, a Legg Mason affiliate and active equity specialist with US$17 billion of assets under management, says it has appointed two heads of distribution in Europe and the Americas as it continues to build a platform for future growth.

Barry MacLennan and Mark Cho will be responsible for aligning resources and strategies across European, US and Latin American markets respectively.

MacLennan joins as Head of wholesale distribution in Europe. Based in Edinburgh, MacLennan will lead the alignment of sales efforts between Martin Currie and Legg Mason in the UK and across Europe.

MacLennan brings extensive experience in the European wholesale market, having previously worked at Standard Life Investments (SLI) for 18 years.

Cho joins as Head of intermediary distribution in the Americas. Based in New York, he will co-ordinate and align sales efforts in both the US and Latin American markets.

Since April 2014, Cho held the role of analyst relations manager on the retail national accounts team at Legg Mason. He previously led the portfolio analytics team at Fred Alger Management. Before that, he managed the research and discretionary model business at Guardian Life.
