ECB nominates Andrea Enria as Chairman of Supervisory Board
November 8, 2018

The Governing Council of the European Central Bank has nominated Andrea Enria as the new chairman of its supervisory board.

He was selected from a shortlist of candidates compiled on September 26. The ECB has informed the chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, Roberto Gualtieri, about its decision. The ECB also informed the President of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council, Hartwig Löger.

Enria, who currently serves as the Chairperson of the European Banking Authority, will be invited by the ECON Committee to a public hearing. If approved by the Parliament and confirmed by the Council of the European Union, he will succeed Daničle Nouy on January 1 2019, appointed for a non-renewable five-year term.
